National day preview was awesome!!!

Haha...Thanks to a close of friend of mine,I managed to set my sights on seeing nationak day today.We get to the blue sector and the atmosphere feels good and lively.Was so excited about the opening performance,the marching parade and of course, the FIREWORKS.

The bag pack was cool cos it's a modified version of a sling bag.They have this handles when you can turn the bag into a handbag.So it's cool.There's a heart-shaped thingy where it can be lighted red or blue.So the light shone from it was beautiful when it was at night.....

There's also this drum hand with the stick Mr Bean.We're supposed to band the hand drum when the so-called ' Guest of speaker' arrived.He's Mr Tarmugi.

Then,actually there's not much interesting stuff in the bad except for donation envelope which I never use at all. Also interesting is the plastic trash.HAHA.

Hahaha

So far,my posts are kinda SHORT.This is not suppose to happen.My life story is supposed to be long,infinite-a word I luv to use-_-Firstly,I'm not going to worry too much on grades.It's getting me crazy.Nothing is easy.Especially,studying ALONE.haha.My fault,my bet.Anyway,let's talk about me.

When I was young,I am so QUIET.haha.Quiet in the sense that I can keep mum for the whole day.I'm lousy in socialising with people at that time.Damn lousy.I have a lot of regrets then.

Now,not really sure if I've changed.hmmm....after taking all personality test,i'm considered outgoing.-_->>>>

Tomorrows's school and I'm getting bored at home after some studying for UT 3.I am not sure if I can still do well for UT even with some studying. Haiz..Afiqah JIAYOU!

UT grades have been bad.Getting B+ for math and communication while C+ for enteprise and science and cognitive. Gosh..haha three C+ in a row.Now,wondering if there are any improvements for UT2 grades later. Whatever happens,I am not going to give up on UT 3. anD MUST also get good daily grades,if not I cannot survive with bad results. Putting my bad sentiments aside,I can't wait for next week.

/Let's countdown for our National Day this 9 th August guys!! Wohoo!! Hoping that this blog entry can earn me the 2009 funpack!! I am yearning it so much!!! Vote for me!!!/

Singapore is celebrating her 44th birthday on 9 August soon.My pride as a Singaporean never fails to swell on this day.It marks the time we as Singaporeans unite and stand together for our country's continued prosperity and progress for the nation.

This year's theme is COME TOGETHER-REACHING OUT AND UP.From this theme, we can gather that Singapore needs to continue with their progress as a nation despite the rising crisis of HINI and the economy.We have the potential to COME TOGETHER, REACH OUT for our dreams and UP to success.

It is amazing how time flies as my eyes watched with awe the stunning performance done by the different contigencies from the army,civil defence force,navy and air force.It was a rehearsed performance taken place last week and it seemed so surreal.

It's so cool to watch the national day rehearsal from the birds eye view.^ ^
When me and my family took the night flyer ride on that unforgettable day,our eyes were glued to the windows as fireworks were on display,colorful performance that is stunning from above and the beautiful lighting effect surrounding the stadium.What an amazing sight! Singapore becomes a city of life rather than a city of dullness.Our first time on board the flyer was indeed memorable.

I believe all of us are the participants of national celebration.

However,I feel strongly that national day celebration is beginning to loss meaning.It is becoming a repeated affair for Singaporeans to fight the way through to have free tickets each year.Are we doing that for the sake of the promising entertainment?Do we still have the real meaning of national day clung to our minds?These questions are there for us to ponder upon.

Truly,national day is not about gathering in the marina parade platform or our eyes glued to the tv to watch the live broadcast of national celebration,it's about remembering how Singapore gets its independence in the year 1965 from the Japanese.

Not to forget, HINI has recently gripped Singapore.We should hope that it is not an obstacle for us to celebrate our National Day. With strong will and determination, we will BE able to barricade ourselves against the wave of HINI. Therefore, temperature checks will be worthwhile. ^ ^

Lol.The time during the eggshell workshop was awesome. We were taught mainly on how the egg acts as a purifying mechanism. It's pores help in the purification.Water molecule is too big to enter the pores but the pollutants is small enough to enter the pores. Hence, the pollutants in the polluted water can be removed and tadaa...clean water is born. This reminds me of Newater!!!Hehehe...sorry guys for this lame shit. I'm so used to doing rj. Hahas!!!

Well, the time with organimae was fun and laughter.Hahas. Nothing can describe how incredible the fun is. Hoping to save some pictures here.Look forward to it guys!

The life of Singaporeans

This is a response to my rj : Choose a topic of your photo story and explain why this photo story will interest your audience.

I would cover a topic on the life of Singaporeans.

The photo story will contain the building blocks of what revolves

around a Singaporean life. The photos can be of a man in his smart

office attire rushing for the bus, a lady jogging around a football field, an old man
cycling to his workplace, a teenager who overwhelmed himself with schoolwork in a holiday, oblivious to his or her surroundings. It can also be of young budding photographer who takes a candid shot of a young Singaporean couple taking sightseeing of the sunset at the East Coast

Beach.

This photos will tell a story of how Singaporeans lead their lives in the

midst of a busy Singapore and their determination to lead a blissful life

even though time passes by so fast in a blink of an eye.

Personally, Singaporeans have taken for granted the small space of time

that exists in between tight schedules. We are too concern with the

rushing of wealth and the effort put in to get promotion and being

praised by the bosses or even meeting timelines for their projects.

In my photo story, the local Singaporeans will be my scope of audiences.

There are reasons that my local Singaporeans will gain an interest of my

photo story.

.

First and foremost, is the portrayal of love. Most of our couples may only

celebrate their love affairs during Valentine’s Day and birthdays. But

they may stand to miss the inner value of being in love after marriage.

This is due to the lack of understanding as to why are they in love in the

first place. Being in love and the vow to be together till death means that

in spite of every hardships they stand to face, they will stay side by side

and endure those obstacles.Thus, the candid photo of loving couple

taken by a young budding photographer will tell a thousand words of

what being in love really means to the local Singaporeans.

Next, the photo story also tells how hardworking we can be. Even though

we place a million emphasize on getting good grades. Are we considered

educated? Do we have the social responsibility to keep our environment

from pests and trashes? Local parents should look deeper into how they

can make their children educated. Instead of bombarding them with

revision books to fill in the time after schoolwork, why not bringing them

to the park and educate them on social responsibility? Then, the children

will learn the value of education as the education is not merely the

regurgitating of information from textbooks.

Hence, the purpose of my photo story is to open the eyes of Singaporeans

about the value of life from love, graciousness to compassion.

First Maven IG camp

~My blog entry for our Maven IG camp 2009~
Yoyo!! Afiqah is signing in...
Did you guys have fun in Maven IG camp. Here’s my thoughts...
It was an ultimate fun on the 3rd June 2009!!!!
The highlights of the camp are the ice-breakers games such as ’passing the banana game’, ‘the laughing game. This is followed by the team-building games.

.
To begin with, during the ice-breaking games, everyone are asked to say out their names and mention one thing that they like. Most of us rushed to be the first as it seemed impossible to say out all the names and the things they like after a few turns. In the end, we were told to only mention our names.

In the passing of the banana game, two teams are formed and are lined opposite of each other. It was kind of amusing to pass the banana using our legs. Also, it was hilarious that my team managed to squash the banana in the end!!! Our strengths are like no other.
In the laughing game, we are supposed to tickle each other’s tummy (not stomach) while counting the numbers 1-9.In the end, most of us did not manage to meet the game’s objective since we dared not be tickled.

I am sure all of us enjoyed the team-building games. Some teams poised to victory but some faced the losing end. Even though my team came in last, the memories of being in a team will be kept as fruitful beginnings in Maven IG.

The camp ended off with all of us writing short and encouraging messages for one another in cards.
All in all, losing or winning are not the important elements in this camp. Instead, building friendships among us are.

We should say Kudos to the committee who planned for this Maven IG camp. Wohoo!!
Hopefully, we are able to see more of us in the upcoming activities such as the ’Packing of goodie bags’ ,etc.
